MidoriLei is an online couture clothing boutique that creates custom-made kimono style dresses. We never create a dress in the same fabric. This means each dress is available in one size for one person. No dress is identical; there are no duplicates.
The fabrics for each dress are chosen solely for that individual dress so we can guarantee that you are wearing a one-of-a-kind creation. We exist to bring modest, feminine, and comfortable dresses into the marketplace.
Who is behind this site?
Three siblings who love each other dearly and clearly hate the corporate world. And I (MidoriLei) just found out, rarely take pictures together! Allan did the website. Dee handles marketing, advertising, maintains the website, and keeps me focused. I design, choose fabrics, choose models, handle photoshoots, write copy, and write blog posts.
A couple of years ago, my brothers and I sat at a park in Keene, Texas eating pizzas. We all knew we wanted to work for ourselves. We knew with the internet and blogging, our products and writing could reach a worldwide audience. I have a passion for fashion and my brothers are great with all the technical stuff, so we collaborated to create MidoriLei.com.

Where do you get your dresses made?
Here in the U.S.A. None of our dresses are factory-made because we aren't interested in making dresses for the masses. We prefer to support our local American seamstresses and do not do any outsourcing overseas. Small businesses help the economy!
Who are your models?
All my models are friends I know personally. Aren't they gorgeous?!
Who are your favorite style icons?
Women from the movies of the 40's, 50's and 60'sWho are your favorite designers?
James CovielloWhat does "la petite fleur" (your subtitle) mean?
It is French for "the small flower". In the future, we may add dress styles other than the kimono style dress, but our dresses will always have small floral prints. This website is a celebration of fashion with small flowers.
Where did the name MidoriLei come from?
My mom! She named me Midori which is the Japanese word for the color green, her favorite color. My middle name, Lei, is the Hawaiian flower necklace.
